Paralimni was built on the shores of a shallow lake, therefore its name in Greek means "settlement by the lake". The area of Paralimni combines natural beauty with tourist attractions.Its charming scenery includes a small fishing harbour, churches and scattered wind mills. One ofthe most sought after area on the island is Protaras.

Located between Protaras and Paralimni, another seaside resort to visit.
The seaside resort area of Pernera is set to soar in popularity as the investment ''''hotspot'''' of the South East Coast with news of a new Marina. Plans are already under study for the new prospect which is to be situated between the Pernera and Agia Triada areaslocatedontheoutskirtsofParalimni.
The Marina which is a much need addition to an already well established area, will boost both prices and tourism in the area. The plans and specifictions of the Marina will be approved by the Cyprus Tourism Oraganisation and amenities are said to include restaurnas, cafeterias, shops and communal areas for communal events. Property prices in these areas including Protaras have soared by up to 60% within the last 3 years and prices are sure to continue to rise with such a desirable addition to the area!

Kapparis Seaside Resort -Firemans Beach
Access to this beach is somewhat restricting, there is a steep descend via a flight of steps. The sandy beach is surrounded by weather beaten rocks.
Konnos Bay
Its shallow waters are perfect for children. A variety of water sports for all ages. Drinks and snacks can be bought at the kiosk.
WHERE TO EAT
Well established restaurants in the Paralimni area are popular with locals and visitors alike, and specialise in local fish and traditional Cypriot meat Meze recipes. The Cypriot Meze is a definite must,a variety of different foods served in small portions giving you a chance to pick your favourite.
For an International cuisine you are spoilt for choice. The Chinese and Japanese restaurants treat you to their more unusual choices while the Indian restaurant has its own authentic flavour and the Italian serves a delicious spaghetti with flavoured cheeses and flambé is always an option.
