Larnaca is the third largest town on the island and is one of the most popular coastal resorts in Cyprus. It is also the home to Cyprus' second busiest port as well as the island's main International Airport. Larnaca is a modern, and a culture town that has pure Cypriot charm.

The motorways linking Paphos and the Famagusta towns including Nicosia the Capital all intersect on the outskirts of the town.

The town's attractive waterfront hosts numerous concerts, exhibitions and cultural events and its Marina attracts yachts from all over the world.

There are also proposals for a new championship Golf course at nearby Tersefanou Village.The Larnaca Golf and Country Club (working title), will comprise of an 18-hole golf course, over 500 residences, breaking down to 285 two to four bedroom villas, 211 one, two and three bedroom apartments and 40 ‘hotel-style’ rooms in the complex. Alongside this will be a clubhouse, a village square and purpose built function rooms and spa facilities. Health treatment will also be available on site with minor cosmetic surgery being performed in the resort’s medical centre.

The Med Group has signed an exclusive contract with the Professional Golfers Association (PGA) which will manage the golfing facilities and develop a PGA academy on site. The agreement with the PGA is exclusive to the Med Group and is the only one allowed on Cyprus. By signing the agreement, the golf course will be able to host Ryder Cup games in the future and is expected to be a major selling point for the resort.

Larnaca is regenerating itself, plans are undergoing to re-brand and re-market its new image:-

• a brand new airport scheduled to open in 2009 (phase1) and is designed to handle 7.5 million passengers a year,
• a new linked Marina and Cruise-ship Port.The existing Marina will be extended so that its current capacity of 200 berth will expand to over 800 and will be available for small and larger yachts (accommodating up to seven cruise liners at any one time)
• a new town centre hotels
• three pedestrianised squares
• re-development of the Dhekelia Road 'Industrial Area'
• a new sea front between the Castle and the Fishing Harbour on the way to Makenzy beach
• a new golf course.
