Savvas Perdios: Cyprus Sets Goal To Be Among 30 Top Tourist Destinations By 2030

Deputy Tourism Minister Savvas Perdios has said that a goal has been set for Cyprus to be among the 30 most competitive tourist destinations by 2030, the CNA reported.

In statements after a meeting of the Cabinet, on Wednesday, during which the national strategy for tourism until 2030 was submitted, Perdios said that the aim is to increase tourism’s contribution in the Cypriot economy from €2.9 billion per year to €4.5 billion per year.

Cyprus ranks 44th in the world today as a tourism destination. Spain ranks 1st, France 3rd and Italy 8th. Portugal is in 12th place, Greece in 25th, Croatia in 27th and Malta in 35th.
