The private sector in Cyprus is set to invest in green hydrogen production to fuel transport and industry.
In an interview with the Cyprus News Agency (CNA), Makis Ketonis, Chairman of the Cyprus Hydrogen Association, which was founded last March under the umbrella of the Cyprus Employers and Industrialists Federation (OEB), underlined the advantages of using green hydrogen, a harmless alternative fuel that is much safer than natural gas, gasoline and oil. Ketonis stressed that it is one of the EU’s and Cyprus’ most important tools in achieving their goals of reducing greenhouse gas emissions and becoming climate neutral.
